What is a BKR registration?
BKR is the Credit Registration Bureau Foundation. This agency registers – as the name suggests – all loans that people in the Netherlands take out. You will be included in the BKR if you take out a loan for more than € 250, have a debt on your credit card, are overdrawn or buy a product on installment. Mortgages or student loans do not lead to a negative registration. For business loans you will receive a BKR registration for amounts above € 1000.

BKR registration and company car leasing
Once you have a BKR registration, it is difficult or even impossible to lease a company car with many leasing companies. This is because they do not want to run the risk that you will no longer be able to pay for the company car after a few months because you have other debts. But even if you have already paid off all your debts, you must demonstrate to the BKR for 5 years that you will not have payment problems again. A forgotten invoice or a few financially bad months can haunt you for years.
